Did you know . . . you cannot cut down a Christmas Tree without a permit. Permits are sold at certain locations and only valid for specific areas. Some areas are very limited including two within the Pike National Forest (303-275-5610) and an area of Golden Gate Canyon State Park (303-582-3707). These permits will be sold out by mid-November!
Other areas offer unlimited permits including a cutting location near Red Feather Lakes within the Canyon Lakes Ranger District (970-295-6700). Permit sale dates and cutting dates vary. Call the location for more information.
