Preserving and Protecting the Indian Peaks and James Peak Wilderness Areas
Technical Troubleshooting Tips
Who has access to the volunteer portal and forms?
Only active volunteers for the current season (summer or winter) will have full access to the scheduling and reporting links. Note: U.S. Forest Service staff and board administrators also have access to the portal.
What are the best browsers to use for a desktop PC or Mac? How about tablets/smartphones with Android or Apple?
Browser Compatibility: Our website and forms should work with any up-to-date browser on your PC or Mac computer desktop (recommended browsers are Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Firefox, and Safari for Mac). The website and forms can also be accessed using a smartphone or tablet – recommended browsers are Google Chrome (Android or Apple) or Safari (Apple).
What should I do to troubleshoot issues with the website or forms?
Please ensure the operating system on your computer, smartphone, or tablet is up to date. If you are having trouble accessing our website or the forms are not loading, please update your browser, see instructions here: https://browser-update.org/update-browser.html, then close all open tabs/windows and clear your browser's history/cache and cookies, see instructions here: https://clear-my-cache.com/.
How do I get email updates and newsletters?
Please ensure you are subscribed to our email list for newsletters and updates (sent from Constant Contact) – volunteers should NOT unsubscribe since they may miss important emails and news. Please add our email address to your “safe list” and do not mark it as junk/spam!

How do I edit or delete a form I've submitted such as the 'Schedule a Patrol' or 'Patrol Report'?
After submission, you will receive an email with a copy of your scheduled hike or patrol report form. You can click on the "edit" link in the email to make changes.
There is no 'delete' option, so if the scheduled hike needs to be cancelled/deleted, please contact us via email (see Portal for contacts) and we will delete/cancel it on the backend.

What should I do if I do not receive emails from IPWA?

Our email mailing list is sent from Constant Contact. Our forms (for scheduling and logging/reporting) are created in the Jotform platform. Jotform automatically sends an email notification to you with a copy of your form and a link to edit the form if needed.
If you do not receive an email from us or a copy of your scheduled patrol/report, check your spam/junk and trash folders. Also, add our email addresses to your safe sender/whitelist.

If you are not receiving emails from IPWA, please try the following troubleshooting tips as well:

-
Please open the computer/smartphone/tablet that you use to access our sites and make sure your preferred browser has the latest updated version (such as Chrome, Internet Explorer, Microsoft Edge, Safari, Firefox, etc.) – see instructions here: https://browser-update.org/update-browser.html
-
Please clear your browser's history/cache and cookies - see instructions here: https://clear-my-cache.com/.
-
Open your email and check your spam/junk/trash folders for any missing emails from the IPWA, then move them to your inbox and mark as “not spam/junk” if you have that option.
-
Safelisting (formerly referred to as "whitelisting") an email address ensures that emails sent from specific addresses reach your email’s Inbox, instead of being marked as spam. In some cases, you simply need to update the safelist (also known as safe sender list or white list) in your email service, but sometimes you may also need to update the safelist in your security settings/program (such as MacAfee, Norton, Spam Assassin, etc.).

Note that comcast.net email addresses are notorious for blocking notification emails, so if this occurs, we recommend setting a new email address with a different provider (such as Gmail or Yahoo).
